Pria's developmental milestones

Ooh, Aahhs:
Pria is becoming more vocal. And not crying vocal. Chatty vocal. She likes imitating our lips and trying to copy our sounds. It's cute. I am trying to record as much as I can of her every day growing moments. Certain pages in her books call to her, hearing herself in an echoing place like my parents house as it is under construction, or just talking back to us when we talk a lot.

Sit ups:
She is trying to sit up now. All she wants to do is be sitting upright. Pria tries so hard to sit up and we help her by pulling her hands/arms up. We do little exercises like sit ups up and down so she can use her muscles.

Dribbles:
Oh my goodness she drools a lot! We need some bibs really bad. Within an hour of a new outfit the front of her top is soaked. And her hands are covered in drool because she sticks her fist in her mouth constantly. If it isn't her fist it is something else. She definitely has discovered her hands. We now have to be careful what she is laying or sitting by because she wants to put everything in her mouth. Sometimes it makes me wonder if she is teething early because she loves to gnaw on our hands, shoulders when we hold her, blankets anything!

Tummy time:
Pria doesn't like tummy time. In fact she doesn't lay on her stomach for longer than 5 minutes before she lets us know she is done. But we try it as much as possible because we know it is important for her to learn to roll over. Doing push-ups is a cinch for her.
So we also try different techniques to help her be on her stomach, like doing the airplane with her laying on our knees, holding her tummy down on our lap or soaring about the apartment like superman lol. She LOVES that one.

Playing with her toys while propped up on our bed...

My parents house remodel

A few months ago my dad decided he wanted to rip up their carpet floors and put in tile (that looks like wood). He also hated their gas heater for a few reasons so he thought of a new way to heat the house. He installed heated floors. I couldn't explain it very well so I have pictures haha. The floors are basically 67 degrees all the time. It is not cold when you walk on them. Quite a comfortable temperature in the house now. I like it :)
Here is my dad beginning the process and tearing out the carpet. There was a wood floor beneath that my dad also had to rip up as well.
Carving out the lines for the red water tubing (you can tell I know nothing about this stuff hahaha)

Pria sat as a "county worker" observing my dads tile work lol

Dustin went over to help when he could.
Apparently he was an excellent tile cutter. :)
 Grouting. Fuuunnn...

See ya sista!

So in case you didn't see my post a couple weeks ago, I made a blog for Jelina of her mission in New York. We are posting her letters, testimonies, pictures when we get them, and updates of where she is, etc. Here are a couple photos of our goodbye before she left for 18 months...

This photo makes me sad/happy. I am going to try and show Pria pictures of Jelina, as well as send as many photos and videos of Pria to Jelina while she is gone. She will be missing a fun time period of Pria's life and it makes me sad a little bit. But Jelina is where she is needed the most at this time and she will be her fun auntie when she gets back :).

Powell/Groff Family Photos

Little Bear

I never really explained why we named her Pria on here. It isn't really a long story except that I wanted a unique pretty name for her. I came across the name looking at lists of "unique" names and fell in love with it. I had been searching names for the last year thinking hard about each name, making sure they could be spelled somewhat easily, pronounced easily and fit with our last name.
Pria is a name from India that means 'beloved'.
We have a few nicknames for her. Of course there is the typical names like sweetie pie, hunny, baby girl, tiny...etc. But as far as her personal nicknames go, we call her bubbles, wiggles, chubbers, kicky pants, Dustin calls her stinky and fluffy, and most of all... little bear. She is most definitely a little bear. Very grunty and makes a lot of little noises that reminds us of a little bear. And little bears are super cute not to mention. :)

"You look like a mom"

I have heard this statement quite a few times since I had Pria. In grocery stores, people at church, friends and family, random people in my daily errands...

What is it?

Is it my messy hair in a bun?
Is it my black yoga pants?
Is it the lack of makeup?
Is it lactation leak on my shirt?
Is it the sour milk smell?
Is it my unmatching clothes?
Is it because I am yawning?

Whatever it is, I don't care... because I love it.

I love being a mom.

Random Phone Pics (A LOT)

We take a lot of phone pictures and videos that go unseen because there is so many and I would feel silly posting all of them all the time. But I like sharing them. So I wanted to share some good ones on here. There are a lot of sleeping pictures...haha
First minutes captured with Pria...

This is a scary photo of Dustin and I lol. But it just expresses the new parent/no sleep look... This was on Halloween, the first day my dad and sister were able to see her.

Morning snuggles

Check out those lips!!!!!!!!!!
So tiny :)
Nala likes to sleep next to her too

First day back to church for her blessing day.

I love this one above. Soooo giggly :)
Sometimes she pouts while in her carseat.. Other times she goes right to sleep. :)
Pria loooooves taking baths :)

Pouty lip...
Our little bear...
She got the sniffles for a week. Here we have her very bundled up to try and avoid her getting any sicker from being cold.

She likes to hold onto my shirt while she's eating or sleeping...
Pria waking up on grandpas side of the bed. We were house sitting while my parents drove Jelina to Utah for her mission.

I love her big bottom lip...
