Christmas with the Powells

This year for Christmas my family drove out to Utah to visit for Christmas and so my dad could go hunt Elk. My parents rented a beautiful cabin in Eden, which is east of Ogden. If my mom were to have another home, it would look like this cabin with all the wildlife animal paintings and thick log cabin looks to it. It was awesome.
We all loved the huge bath tub in the master bedroom too. :)
Yes, T'was a very cold white Christmas.
The snow poured that week, but luckily we were inside most the time and enjoyed lots of games, traditional Christmas movies, ate lots of mom’s cookin’, and of course presents!!!I might add that on Christmas eve we have a little tradition where we get just one present, which is usually new pajamas :) Dustin, Jelina and I all got matching white tops... I have developed a new skill in woodburning too. Haha.
I made a sign for my dad and the family for the cabin we have out in California.

And of course we got jackets and coats which were oh so fun and warm.

Dustin and I have been trying to improve and expand our emergency essentials and food. So my parents got us a nice new flashlight and lantern for just in case.

My mom made us a beautiful comfy quilt made of all my old jeans. We LOVE it.My dad got us quite the emergency essential.... Thats right...a GUN. Wahoo!!
Back off people, you don't wanna mess with these guns! hehe
Me pretending to ward someone off.... while laughing in an evil way of course ha!

Juno had a blast as well. Her stocking was just about as full as mine!!!

Spoiled little kitty...

The Blue Umbrella

One random Sunday, Dustin and I decided to go take pictures with an umbrella. We have a habit of driving around on Sundays because there is nothing else to do that day, and Dustin plays around on his fancy camera. You never know where you will end up with us... And here are our favorites out of the many hundred taken....

Im gazing at some geese if you must know...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Last night was Halloween and we went to a married costume party. Dustin dressed up as a lightning bolt/electricity and I dressed up as the lightning victum.... We had a lot of fun getting our hair all teased and ready. Dustin enjoyed burning pieces of my ourfit to make it looked burnt. Dustins lightning bolt belt was my favorite..:)

Our favorite friends Thomas and Jessica dressed up as Milk Chocolate. What a tasty couple!

Alyssa's New Car

The scooter is in the doghouse this winter.
Since carpooling with Dustins truck all the time and snow coming soon we needed to get a second vehicle. After searching Craigslist, Autotraders, KSL, and many used car dealerships we finally found my new used car. A dark green 1997 Honda Accord. Pretty awesome rims I might add as well. Ha! It is sure nice to be driving again and to have a stereo while I am going around town...rather than my humming of the scooter.
Although it definately needs a new stereo system of course!

little Juno....

Here is our little Juno... a female kitty we adopted from Dustins sister Taylor. She is now 12 weeks old and the most playful skitsofrantic cat ever! She brings us a lot of smiles and laughter to us in our apartment. She sleeps between me and Dustin at night and licks our faces in the morning... Sometimes a little bit too early. We are greatful for our first little pet together and enjoy the company when one of us is gone to work or something.

Nebraska Reception

The reception in Nebraska turned out great. I never thought someone could make a chapel building look so good. We had Christmas lights everywhere and it almost felt like a fantasy room ha. We are so greatful for all that dad Groff did and all the work friends did to make it look wonderful. Thank you everyone!!
